RULES
- Team Composition
Participants can compete in any of the segments. However, last minute changes are not allowed. Once the slot is booked (singles, doubles or teams) it cannot be changed. - Puzzle Selection
All puzzles for a particular segment will be same. There will not be any dispute around the puzzle that has been selected by the organizers. - Missing pieces
If any pieces are missing when the puzzle is completed, a penalty of 10 seconds per missing piece will be added to the final completion time. If a missing piece is found after 10 seconds of searching, the final time will be recorded as the time of placing the second-to-last piece plus the penalty. However, if more than 10 pieces are missing, the participant’s entry will be disqualified. For instances where two or more connected pieces are missing, no penalty will be applied, as it will be treated as a manufacturing defect. - Time Limits
Each team or individual will have a set time limit to complete the puzzle. The time for each segment will be mentioned in the advertisement/flyers etc. - Time Disputes
The tournament will start with announcement and a count down. Before which the participants are not allowed to see or open the puzzle. There will be immediate disqualification in case of such activity. - Assembly Rule
Teams may use tools (e.g., sorting trays, reference images)
No outside assistance or communication with non-participants is allowed during the competition. - Winners
Speed puzzling tournaments are time based. In case of same completion time, the organizers will decide on if to have two winners or have a tie breaking puzzle. The decision of the organizers is final and non-debatable. - Conduct
All participants must exhibit good sportsmanship.
Any form of cheating (e.g., using outside resources) will result in disqualification. - Prizes
Prizes can be awarded for the top individuals or teams, with speed as the only criteria. - Safety and Fair Play
Participants should respect personal space and avoid any actions that could disrupt or disturb others. - Judging
Judges will oversee the tournament, ensuring rules are followed and resolving any disputes.

JPT is powered by Rapturous Mind; which is a startup in the space of Mind health. The initiation of JPT is to make speed puzzling a national sporting event.
The entity’s main objective is to spread speed puzzling throughout the country as a means of growing puzzle culture and its advantages on brain health, health, education, social cohesion and personal enrichment.
Goals of JPT are:
- To organize and supervise the Indian Jigsaw puzzle Championship and other activities.
- To organize structured state wise events prior to a national event.
- To achieve the acknowledgment of jigsaw puzzle competitions as a sport.
- To establish a standard on regulations for jigsaw puzzle competitions and other issues about their organization to be taken into consideration.
- To establish State Associations capable of organizing contests and bringing together jigsaw puzzlers under one roof.
- To foster a nurturing environment among jigsaw puzzle enthusiasts world-wide.
- To stimulate innovations in the field of jigsaw puzzles.
